Outdoor Living and Kitchen Trends

Many experts are attempting to predict the major up and coming trends for home design in 2015. There are various ideas that are drawing the attention of homeowners and buyers, causing a growth in popularity. The next series of blog posts will cover some of the main things to watch for in 2015.

Outdoor living is not a new idea, but homeowners are finding new ways to embrace this trend, giving it new life. The idea of bringing the outdoors in has long been an important part of home design, and this year the use of better equipped roof decks, outdoor showers, hot tubs, and pools are giving residents many more reasons to spend their white-kitchen-from-BHGtime outdoors. There are many upgrades for “man’s best friend” too, such as designated dog runs and wash stations. These ideas are really bringing the idea of outdoor living to the forefront of home design.

Many people think of traditional style when they consider white kitchens. This trend has been popular on and off throughout past decades, but it is making a real comeback. Seven out of ten kitchens now have some sort of white cabinetry in them in 2015. What is new about the use of white in an “all white kitchen” is the varying use of white shades. These shades range anywhere from stark white, to creamy, and even almost gray. There is a new emphasis on the use of bigger hardware and larger sinks, giving new focal points to the space.
