You’re excited to hire a custom home builder in Vancouver WA. You can’t wait until hammers start flying and drywall starts hanging.
Yet, before the foundation can be poured, you’ll need a plot of land. Buying property may seem like a slam dunk but there are several things to consider before pulling the proverbial trigger.
In this three-part series, Tuscany Homes lists seven things you might want to consider before buying land to build your custom home.
Location. Location. Location.
It’s a cliché but it’s true. When it comes to real estate of any kind, including the plot of land on which you’re going to build, it’s all about location.
You’ll probably want to consider what part of town or county you want to live in as well as issues like how close do you want to be near a certain school or your place of work.
Also, think about asking yourself, do you really want to live near a highway or do you mind having a bazillion neighbors in a huge subdivision?
Finally, you might want to think about the location of your home within the lot itself. Is there a view to be had? Do you want the front and back yards to be the same size? Can you get clever with your driveway?
Obviously, some of that stuff will be decided by the way your neighborhood is configured, but there might be a few ways you can play with the location of your home.
In part two of this series, we’ll look at three more things to consider before buying land to build your custom home.
