Tips for Hanging Christmas Lights – Part 1

Tuscany Homes, a respected builder of custom homes in Vancouver WA, has compiled several tips for hanging Christmas lights.

Christmas LightsThe first Christmas in your new custom home is very special. Christmas lights not only show off your holiday spirit, but they also show off your newly built home too.

Hanging Christmas lights can be difficult and time-consuming. To take the “bah humbug” out of the process, consider the following…

Pay someone else to do it. It’s not a groundbreaking tip, but why go through the hassle of doing it yourself when you can pay a professional to do it. You may not have it in your budget, but if you do, it’s worth it.

Be careful and be safe. If you’re getting up on a ladder, make sure the ladder is in good condition and on a flat surface. Don’t secure your lights with nails or tacks. Don’t install Christmas lights on trees that contact power lines.

Plan where you’re going to hang your lights. You don’t need to break out the computer drafting program, but you might want to briefly sketch where you want to hang your lights. Spending a few minutes planning will save you time in the long run.
