Many people have New Year’s resolutions for themselves, but few have them for their new custom homes in Clark County WA.
What about you? Do you have New Year’s resolutions for your custom home?
In this three-part series, Tuscany Homes suggest New Year’s Resolutions for custom home owners.
Keep It Clean. Since your custom home is relatively new, it’s probably clean. It might need to be vacuumed and dusted, but it’s certainly cleaner than a home that’s five or ten years old.
You probably want to keep it that way. So, create a “deep cleaning” schedule and stick to it. By “deep cleaning” we mean stuff like washing light fixtures, cleaning the inside of your oven, and dusting your blinds.
Keep it organized. You probably received some stuff over the holidays and/or bought some stuff. Make sure it has a place and donate your clutter to a local nonprofit or a local landfill. You might have organized after you moved in, but you can never organize too much.
Make it safe. Your new custom home probably has a system to remove radon and carbon monoxide, but it’s not a bad idea to have your home tested for those gases.
Do you have a fire extinguisher? Have you checked the batteries in your smoke detectors? Have you cleaned the lint out of your dryer vents and ducts?
