Home builders in Clark County know all the signs of a roof that needs replacing. Tuscany Homes wants you to know them as well.
That’s why we’ve put together this three-part series on visual clues that your roof needs replacing. In this final installment, we look at the last three signs.
Your roof has moss and/or algae. Actually, this is only a cosmetic issue. Problems arise when home owners power wash their roof. By doing so they blast away granules. The granules on your roof protect it from the sun.
Here comes the sun. If you’re in your attic and you can see the sun shine through your ceiling, then you probably have severe roof problems. If light can get through so can rain and cold air.
Hopefully, those holes allowing the sun through can be patched. If not, it might be new roof time.
Your roof is sagging. If you notice your roof sagging, you probably have a very serious problem. You might want to call an expert as soon as possible.
A sagging roof can mean you have issues with the decking in the attic or with your supports in your foundation. Pundits recommend that you act to fix it sooner rather than later.
