Design Ideas to Make Small Bathrooms Feel Bigger – Part 3

One of the first things you’ll ask of your custom home builder in Vancouver WA is to make sure you have at least one big bathroom. The question then becomes, how to make the other bathrooms, and possibly a powder room, look bigger.

In the final installment of our three-part series, we continue discussing design ideas to make small bathrooms feel bigger.

Big Mirrors – Big mirrors are a simple way to add the illusion of size in your small bathroom. Also, consider oval mirrors. Another trick designer suggest is to install as many mirrors as you can.

Use One Type of Tile – If your small bathroom floor plan allows it, use one type of tile. That means the floor inside your shower looks like the floor in the rest of your bathroom.

Curve Corners – Designers suggest making the corners (since we’re talking about small bathrooms it’s probably just one corner) of your countertop curved. You don’t lose that much counter space and you protect yourself from running into a sharp point when you’re in a hurry.

Sliding Door – A sliding door into your bathroom is a great way to free up space.
